Here we are setting around telling lies and showing off our cameras.
We began our day at about 8am with Coffee and Donuts. Everyone got a name badge, an Argus Cap and a T-Shirt. We introduced ourselves and got to see some of the people we have been emailing over the years.
Ron Norwood's Display of less common Argus cameras.
Ron's Rarities
Argus C4 Black • Argus Model K • Argoflex II • Argus C with F/S Switch
Everyone enjoyed the cameras on display. I cannot thank Ron Norwood enough for the outstanding display of Argus rarities. Those in attendance had the opportunity to see and touch some cameras that other collectors only dream about.
Randy Sweatt's 8X10 Camera
Some modified C3s and other cameras brought by Billy Glass
I enjoyed seeing other cameras brought by those in attendance. Fred Schwartz brought a very interesting model C with a third party flash sync that I had never seen. He also presented me with a really cool Flash Sheet holder for my collection. Billy Glass showed several Argus and non Argus cameras and as the master of the custom C3 coverings Billy had a couple of modified cameras on display. Thanks also to Randy Sweatt for showing us his Huge 8X10 view camera. I have helped him carry it on picture taking outings and I can attest to it's heft.
Some of my cameras on display at the event.
Some of the guys in attendance made sure to show their wives my collection of well over 2000 cameras. I expect to be paid for taking some of the heat off of them and their collections.
THE OUTING
We went to Mabry Mill and other points of interest to take pictures with our classic cameras.
Lover's Leap "DON'T JUMP"
Mabry Mill
Jack's Creek Covered Bridge
Bob White Covered Bridge
I think the highlight of the day was the picture taking outing. It is so fun to use classic cameras.
After returning to the Shop from our outing, we went to Nina's Italian restaurant for dinner and a relaxing evening of sharing our camera stories and getting to know each other. I think even our wives enjoyed this part of the event.
If you did not make it this year, please plan to join us next spring.
