RACING IN THE 60'S
This site is intended for the enjoyment of anyone who raced, worked the course or spectated at the
Washington, DC Regional/National SCCA races in the early to mid 60's. The two racing venues
shown are the Marlboro Speedway and Virginia International Raceway where many well
known drivers and teams raced including Roger Penske, Bob Holbert, Briggs Cunningham, . . . .
I want to share my experiences during that time via photographs (mostly slides) that I (and a few
others) took. My photo equipment and expertise were primitive then compared to today.
Close-up shots, composition and richness of color leave a lot to be desired. I am trying to
get access to some of that "good/expensive" scanning equipment that will make my slides/pics
look respectable. At any rate, I do hope that the photos capture some of the atmosphere and
excitement of the time.
