Where's Ron?

With the Hainan dance group

A picture given to me which was taken with some of the guests from the audience after a performance in Zhaoqing.

Left to the right, front row: Wong Ye Fong, guest, We May Linger (spelling Ron's), Quang Hi Shu, guest, Hu Li Xian. Second row: 3 guests, Huang Yue Ai, Ron, and Huang Hai Iian, and guest. Back row: guests.

After seeing the first show, May Linger and Hi Shu came out to where I was sitting and introduced themselves. May Linger could speak some English and was most kind to me. Hi Shu, I believe has the most talent and will become a famous Chinese dancer, singer and actress. They went with me to a Disco after the last show.

They closed the show with a wonderful act, dancing through and over sticks being moved in time with the music. After this act the audience was invited to come up on the stage and dance over the sticks. I made it across without stepping on the sticks a couple of times, but I won't say how many times I tried.

One of the more colorful acts. On the left is Hu Li Xian, in the middle is Huang Hai Iian, and on the right is Gao Yan Yan.

Cheng Fung and Hu Li Xian

Left to right: front row: Cheng Yi Kui, Lan Jinge; back row: Wang Xing He, Lu Hui Zuang.

Lan Jinge could speak the most English, was my best friend, and sometimes roommate. He was always being sure I had enough to eat. Hui Zuang played music on a leaf (too incredible and difficult to describe, but I have it on tape.)
